Smol Thoughts: On Personal Brand

--

From Taylor Swift’s Anti-Hero Video

There are ample incompetent people with great public personal brands. Ironically, the more popular these guys get- and if they don’t solve for their incompetence as their popularity swells- the more their private reputation suffers.

There are ample extremely brilliant people with non-existent public personal brands, but with a very strong privately held reputation.

Your personal brand doesn’t matter if you have a lack-lustre and/or conflicting privately held reputation.

What you want to be is extremely competent, have your competence back your reputation, and let your competence lead how you potentially shape your public personal brand.
